Resources
The excessive consumption of natural resources causes serious environmental damage and endangers our livelihoods. The consequences of resource depletion are largely local, the polluters global. In order to limit environmental damage to an ecologically acceptable level, it is necessary to reduce global resource consumption and increase resource efficiency. Market prices do not adequately reflect ecological damage and future scarcity, so economic instruments must be used to take corrective action and create better framework conditions.
