Dr. Wolfgang Oels studied industrial engineering and earned his doctorate with a thesis on the decentralization of energy production. He worked as a consultant for McKinsey&Company before holding various management positions in the solar industry in Germany and the US. This included managing what was then the world's largest solar cell production facility. Since 2016, he has been COO of Ecosia, the search engine that plants trees.
