Environmental Financial Reform
With an environmental financial reform, we are using fiscal policy and taxation to redirect towards a sustainable and fair economy and society - by reducing subsidies that harm the environment and society, by placing our tax system on a broader basis and by making the consumption of resources and the burden on the climate more expensive. The additional revenue should be used sustainably for investments in the future and social justice.

| Publicationabstract | In dieser Analyse hat das FÖS untersucht, welchen finanziellen Anteil die Gewinne aus der Erdgasnutzung am Geschäftsergebnis von Stadtwerken haben. Zudem wird dargestellt, welche Rolle Stadtwerke bei der Finanzierung der kommunalen Daseinsvorsorge in Deutschland spielen. Dazu werden beispielhaft vier Stadtwerke untersucht: Stadtwerke Leipzig, Stadtwerke Erdgas Plauen, Stadtwerke Troisdorf und Stadtwerke Frankfurt am Main. Es zeigt sich, dass Erdgas bei allen betrachteten Stadtwerken aktuell noch eine große Rolle spielt. Ebenso sind die Gewinne der Stadtwerke für die Querfinanzierung anderer Aufgaben der kommunalen Daseinsvorsorge entscheidend. |
