Environmental Financial Reform
With an environmental financial reform, we are using fiscal policy and taxation to redirect towards a sustainable and fair economy and society - by reducing subsidies that harm the environment and society, by placing our tax system on a broader basis and by making the consumption of resources and the burden on the climate more expensive. The additional revenue should be used sustainably for investments in the future and social justice.

| Publicationabstract | Die ökologische Fortentwicklung des Steuer- und Abgabensystems ist von großer Bedeutung – sowohl zur Unterstützung der Transformation hin zu einer klimaneutralen Wirtschaftsweise als auch für die Finanzierung des Staates. In diesem Kontext untersucht das Forum Ökologisch-Soziale Marktwirtschaft regelmäßig die Entwicklung der Umweltsteuern in Deutschland. Sie verlieren weiter an Bedeutung, so dass ihr Anteil an der Finanzierung des Staatshaushalts erneut sank und im Jahr 2021 weiter auf dem historischen Tiefstand von 3,7% lag. Der Aufbruch in die sozial-ökologischen Marktwirtschaft braucht klare fiskalpolitische Signale. |
