Environmental Financial Reform
With an environmental financial reform, we are using fiscal policy and taxation to redirect towards a sustainable and fair economy and society - by reducing subsidies that harm the environment and society, by placing our tax system on a broader basis and by making the consumption of resources and the burden on the climate more expensive. The additional revenue should be used sustainably for investments in the future and social justice.

| Publicationabstract | FÖS Positionspapier - gemeinsam mit dem DNR: Das 7. Umweltaktionsprogramm soll mittel- und langfristige umweltpolitische Ziele in besonders umweltrelevanten Politikfeldern der Europäischen Union etablieren. 23 deutsche Umweltverbände haben ein gemeinsames Positionspapier zum 7. UAP veröffentlicht, mit dem sie die Diskussion innerhalb der Kommission beeinflussen wollen. Das FÖS plädiert in seinem Beitrag zu "Greening the European Budget" unter anderem für eine europäische Haushaltspolitik, die Umweltaspekte konsequent einbezieht sowie für eine bessere Umsetzung bestehender Umweltgesetze und einen strengen und detaillierten Zeitplan für den Abbau umweltschädlicher Subventionen bis 2020. |
