Environmental Financial Reform
With an environmental financial reform, we are using fiscal policy and taxation to redirect towards a sustainable and fair economy and society - by reducing subsidies that harm the environment and society, by placing our tax system on a broader basis and by making the consumption of resources and the burden on the climate more expensive. The additional revenue should be used sustainably for investments in the future and social justice.

| Publicationabstract | FÖS-Stellungnahme zur Anhörung im Finanzausschuss des Deutschen Bundestags am 26.09.2012: Das FÖS begrüßt das Ziel, ökologische Gesichtspunkte bei der Besteuerung von Dienstwagen mit in Betracht zu ziehen, empfiehlt aber eine technologieneutrale Reform der Dienstwagenbesteuerung, die die umfangreiche bestehende umweltschädliche Subvention reduziert. So könnte die Dienstwagenbesteuerung einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Reduzierung des CO2-Ausstoßes im Straßenverkehr leisten und zusätzliche Steuereinnahmen in Milliardenhöhe - z.B. zur Konsolidierung der öffentlichen Haushalte - erzielen. |
