Environmental Financial Reform
With an environmental financial reform, we are using fiscal policy and taxation to redirect towards a sustainable and fair economy and society - by reducing subsidies that harm the environment and society, by placing our tax system on a broader basis and by making the consumption of resources and the burden on the climate more expensive. The additional revenue should be used sustainably for investments in the future and social justice.

| Publicationabstract | Auf dem Weg zum Klimaziel 2030 klaffen im Verkehrssektor große jährliche Lücken. Im aktuellen „Mit-Maßnahmen-Szenario“ (MMS) reduziert der Sektor seine Emissionen von derzeit 150 auf 118 Millionen Tonnen Treibhausgasemissionen. Das Ziel von rund 84 Mio. wird verfehlt und es verbleibt eine Klimaschutzlücke von rund 35 Mio. In diesem Policy Brief werden drei Klimaschutzmaßnahmen vorgestellt, die zusätzlich Einsparungen von bis zu 20 Mio. einbringen könnten: eine Reform der Dienstwagenbesteuerung, eine CO2-basierte Neuzulassungssteuer und eine Reform der Entfernungspauschale. |
