Environmental Financial Reform

With an environmental financial reform, we are using fiscal policy and taxation to redirect towards a sustainable and fair economy and society - by reducing subsidies that harm the environment and society, by placing our tax system on a broader basis and by making the consumption of resources and the burden on the climate more expensive. The additional revenue should be used sustainably for investments in the future and social justice.

Die Analyse öffentlicher Ausgabenpolitik zeigt immer wieder, dass staatliche Subventionen im Widerspruch zu einer nachhaltigen Finanzpolitik im Bereich Umwelt und Klima stehen. Dabei ist es Ziel des Pariser Klimaabkommens (Artikel 2.1.c), alle Finanzflüsse in Einklang mit den Klimazielen zu bringen. Bei der folgenden Analyse legen wir den Fokus auf umweltschädliche Subventionen. Dazu hat die luxemburgische Umweltorganisation Mouvement Écologique den deutschen Think Tank Forum Ökologisch-Soziale Marktwirtschaft (FÖS) beauftragt.
