Environmental Financial Reform
With an environmental financial reform, we are using fiscal policy and taxation to redirect towards a sustainable and fair economy and society - by reducing subsidies that harm the environment and society, by placing our tax system on a broader basis and by making the consumption of resources and the burden on the climate more expensive. The additional revenue should be used sustainably for investments in the future and social justice.

| Publicationabstract | Damit Deutschland seine Klimaziele erreichen kann, braucht es einen schnellen Kohleausstieg. Trotzdem fließen immer noch staatliche Gelder in die Förderung von Braunkohle. Im Jahr 2022 wurde der Abbau von Braunkohle und die Erzeugung von Braunkohlestrom in Deutschland mit rund 1,7 Milliarden Euro gefördert. 1,2 Milliarden Euro kommen direkt aus dem Staatshaushalt und fehlen dort für andere Maßnahmen. Die restlichen 500 Millionen Euro belasten den Staatshaushalt nicht – werden aber zum Teil direkt von Stromkund*innen übernommen. |
