Environmental Financial Reform
With an environmental financial reform, we are using fiscal policy and taxation to redirect towards a sustainable and fair economy and society - by reducing subsidies that harm the environment and society, by placing our tax system on a broader basis and by making the consumption of resources and the burden on the climate more expensive. The additional revenue should be used sustainably for investments in the future and social justice.

| Publicationabstract | Angesichts einer angespannten Haushaltslage und unzureichender Investitionen in den Klimaschutz steht die Bundesregierung vor der Aufgabe, zusätzliche Finanzierung zu mobilisieren. Ein bislang wenig beachteter Hebel ist das Geldvermögen privater Haushalte. Der Sustainable Finance Beirat hat 2024 mit dem Vorschlag eines Klimasparplans aufgezeigt, wie dieses gezielt für die ökologische Transformation aktiviert werden kann. Dieser Ansatz sollte vor dem Hintergrund der aktuellen Finanzierungsherausforderungen erneut aufgegriffen und politisch priorisiert werden. Sozial faire, niedrigschwellige und klar am Klimaschutz ausgerichtete Rahmenbedingungen sind zentrale Voraussetzungen, damit der Klimasparplan wirksam zur Finanzierung der ökologischen Transformation beitragen kann. |
