Environmental Financial Reform
With an environmental financial reform, we are using fiscal policy and taxation to redirect towards a sustainable and fair economy and society - by reducing subsidies that harm the environment and society, by placing our tax system on a broader basis and by making the consumption of resources and the burden on the climate more expensive. The additional revenue should be used sustainably for investments in the future and social justice.

| Publicationabstract | Die Studie analysiert die erheblichen Investitionsbedarfe Deutschlands im Bereich Klimaschutz, Infrastruktur und Modernisierung nach Jahrzehnten unzureichender öffentlicher Investitionen. Dabei variieren die Finanzierungsanforderungen je nach Sektor, Transformationsphase und Akteursstruktur stark, zudem machen Hemmnisse wie Unsicherheit, Kostenunterschiede und eingeschränkter Zugang zu Finanzierungen gezielte öffentliche Unterstützung notwendig. Anhand von vier Handlungsfeldern – Stromnetze, Schieneninfrastruktur, Moorrenaturierung und energieintensiver Mittelstand – werden spezifische Förderbedarfe, Hindernisse und geeignete Instrumente aufgezeigt und Impulse für die Ausgestaltung des Klima- und Transformationsfonds sowie dessen Zusammenspiel mit neuen Infrastruktur- und Klimaschutzmaßnahmen geliefert. |
