Environmental Financial Reform
With an environmental financial reform, we are using fiscal policy and taxation to redirect towards a sustainable and fair economy and society - by reducing subsidies that harm the environment and society, by placing our tax system on a broader basis and by making the consumption of resources and the burden on the climate more expensive. The additional revenue should be used sustainably for investments in the future and social justice.

| Publicationabstract | Trotz zahlreicher politischer Bekenntnisse und knapper Kassen kommt die Reform umweltschädlicher Subventionen kaum voran. Im Gegenteil hat die Bundesregierung seit Amtsantritt zahlreiche Entscheidungen getroffen, durch die umweltschädliche Subventionen und Anreize sogar ausgeweitet wurden. Das Factsheet zieht eine Zwischenbilanz nach einem Jahr schwarz-rote Koalition: Maßnahmen im Bereich Agrardieselvergünstigung, Pendlerpauschale, Luftverkehrsteuer oder Energie- und Strompreise kosten den Staat im Jahr 2026 zusätzlich 11 Mrd. Euro. Solche Subventionen verteuern das Erreichen der Klima- und Umweltziele und setzen Fehlanreize bei Investitionen und Konsum. |
