Environmental Financial Reform
With an environmental financial reform, we are using fiscal policy and taxation to redirect towards a sustainable and fair economy and society - by reducing subsidies that harm the environment and society, by placing our tax system on a broader basis and by making the consumption of resources and the burden on the climate more expensive. The additional revenue should be used sustainably for investments in the future and social justice.

| Publicationabstract | Im Rahmen der Öffentlichkeitsbeteiligung zum Klimaschutzprogramm der Bundesregierung hat das Forum Ökologisch-Soziale Marktwirtschaft (FÖS) eine Stellungnahme eingebracht. Darin betont das FÖS die Bedeutung marktwirtschaftlicher Instrumente für wirksamen und sozial gerechten Klimaschutz. Zentrale Forderungen sind die verursachergerechte Bepreisung von Klimakosten, der Abbau umwelt- und klimaschädlicher Subventionen sowie eine klimagerechte Ausrichtung der öffentlichen Finanzen. Durch die Reform von Subventionen und Umweltabgaben können Fehlanreize korrigiert, Haushaltsmittel effizient eingesetzt und zusätzlicher finanzieller Spielraum für die sozial ausgewogene Transformation geschaffen werden. |
