Environmental Financial Reform
With an environmental financial reform, we are using fiscal policy and taxation to redirect towards a sustainable and fair economy and society - by reducing subsidies that harm the environment and society, by placing our tax system on a broader basis and by making the consumption of resources and the burden on the climate more expensive. The additional revenue should be used sustainably for investments in the future and social justice.

| Publicationabstract | Zeitgleich mit dem Energiewendemonitoring hat das Bundeswirtschaftsministerium einen 10-Punkte-Plan für ein zukunftsfähiges Stromsystem vorgelegt. Diese Kurzstudie nimmt einen Vergleich vor und zeigt deutliche Unterschiede: Während der Monitoring-Bericht Klimaneutralität als Voraussetzung für Versorgungssicherheit und Bezahlbarkeit betont, setzt das Ministerium andere Schwerpunkte. Es fehlt an einer klaren Verbindung der Ziele – und am politischen Gestaltungswillen. Notwendig sind jetzt gezielte Maßnahmen für die Elektrifizierung von Verkehr, Wärme und Industrie, den kosteneffizienten Ausbau Erneuerbarer und den Abbau fossiler Marktverzerrungen. |
